To persist is to keep trying, seeking, and searching. The persistence of seeking a colour may seem odd to some, but to me is an actual *formula in choosing how to live life.
The sun and moon, the most bitter yet coveted fruits, the people in the lifeguard towers watching our beaches…these are every day symbols of giving life and they are yellow.
Yellow is the opposite of darkness, of death. It symbolizes ideas, new beginnings, joy and for me, life itself. It is in fact a life force.
Yellow is inside all of us somewhere. In fairness I do think I was served an extra pallet in the paint colours of life, and most of the time yellow was always just well, there.
But life happens. Tides turn and circumstances change (yep, thanks 2016!). Some days it feels like that particular colour pallet has dried up and the paintings in your mind start to resemble more Darth Vader than yellow sunrises and spring chickens.
They say the people you surround yourself with will reflect your life. That is true but we are often alone and cannot expect others to always be there to fix us. We need to devise our own ways of doing that. My way is to find trigger sticks or symbols to bring us back to our own self/essence. My trigger stick is always yellow.
Actively seeking it…continually persisting to find it is not just important but like its essence a way of choosing to be in life.
The little yellow car, the balcony overlooking the beach, the lemons to start the morning, the pineapple bedside lamp that ends the night are not just accidents. They are deliberate guide points as a reminder to keep finding the vibrancy, energy, and joy in this great life.
For me there is no better reminder of this every single day than my own yellow branding.
Whatever your trigger sticks are, surround yourself with them. They are your daily guide points to bring you back to your true life force.
For me, I will always persist to find that Yellow.
* managing to use the word formula in a blog post about yellow…extra points for me!
